The angel knew her time with the human, Danny, was coming to an end. She just didn't know when they'd make her pull the plug. Everyday, the angel wondered 'is today the day?' and eventually... it was.
"Amelia, it's time you and I had a talk." Amelia spun around surprised that Michael would show up in the middle of a crowed subway station in New York. Not waiting until she was home. Amelia was also surprised that Heaven sent an angel as high rank as Michael, she knew she had really pissed them off this time.
"Michael." She said softly. "Why did they send you?" When Amelia asked this Michael stepped closer to her, so she could hear him over the rumble of the subway.
"Father, sent me. He's not very pleased with you. What exactly did you do?" Michael smiled, but it wasn't a friendly smile.
"I was sent to be a guardian." Amelia turned around, knowing she wasn't answering that question completely.
"And?" Michael stood in front of Amelia, so he was looking her in the eyes.
"I began to have certain... feelings for him." Amelia answered.
Michael looking shocked by her answer for a few seconds but quickly regained his composer. "That's impossible. We cannot have feelings like those."
"I thought it was too, until I met my charge. I have spent months trying to figure out what was happening." Amelia knew what was coming next. She just hoped he would make it quick.
"So where is he anyway? He has to be here, you're his guardian you can't just leave him alone."
Amelia didn't want to tell Michael where Danny was sitting, but she knew she had no choice. Sighing, she lifted up her arm and pointed to a tall, lanky boy in a purple jacket. "He's over there, sitting down in the purple jacket."
"Awe, isn't he sweet looking?" Michael heckled.
Amelia gave him a disturbed looked, making Michael laughing and continue. "Are you finished?" Amelia asked sternly.
Michael nodded and cleared his throat. Michael started to walk towards Danny, but Amelia stopped him; placing her hand on his chest.
"Michael, I am still his guardian. I cannot let any harm come to him. I will stop you if you try anything." Amelia said, defensively.
"Amelia, you couldn't stop me even if you tried. I'm still stronger than you, baby sis. Besides I'm not going to even touch him. That'll be your job."
Michael smiled like this was one big joke to him. Amelia was not laughing.
"What do you mean?" Amelia wasn't sure if she wanted to know the answer to her question.
"Father wants you to wipe his memory. Take it all away from him. Just one little touch, and it'll all be gone." Michael was enjoying himself.
"No, I can't... I won't!" Amelia started yelling.
"Awe, sissy. Stop making a scene. If you won't do it, I will. And I'll take Suriel with me." Michael smiled crookedly.
Amelia's eyes grew wide. Suriel was a healer but she was also an Angel of Death and Amelia knew what she was capable of. The pain she could inflict. "Fine, I'll do it." Amelia eyes started to tear up.
"That's a good little sister." Michael patted Amelia on the head, and before she could say anything else Michael was gone.

"Amelia! Where are you? You're not suppose to leave me alone, remember!?" Danny was yelling in his dorm room. The college kids next to him probably thought he was crazy. Danny didn't blame them, he thought he was crazy too.
"Danny you can't be yelling like that. People will think you're insane." Amelia showed up behind Danny. He spun around.
"I am crazy." He said truthfully, Amelia gave him a look saying, 'no you're not.'
"Danny, you're not crazy." Danny went up to Amelia and hugged her around the waste.
"I have an angel for a best friend and Fate is literally out to get me. I'm not exactly the poster child for a normal life." Danny laughed a little. Amelia pulled away from him and tried to be more serious.
"Danny I don't think it's such a good idea for us to be hanging out together." Danny looked at Amelia, confused.
"What do you mean? You're my guardian angel, you can't just leave me alone." Danny started to freak out.
"I know, but it's not safe with me either." Amelia started to tear up.
"Why not? Aren't you guys suppose to be the good guys?" Danny didn't want to believe anything that was going on.
"No, Danny. So many of you humans think that angels are the good guys, but we're not. We can be just as big of dicks as demons." Danny shook his head vigorously.
"No, that's not true. Your intentions are good-" Danny was cut off by Amelia's voice.
"Our intentions are not good. We don't do things because we feel it's right or wrong, we do things because of orders. If I was ordered to kill off an entire village in Peru, I would have to because I was ordered to!" Amelia was speaking from experience and her voice started to rise.
Danny realised that Amelia was being very real with him and he couldn't help but walk up to her and hug her. Amelia tried to pull away from the hug, but Danny wouldn't let go.
"I'm sorry I said anything, but I can't be alone right now." His voice was raw and shaky.
"Danny, I know. But you can't be with me either." Amelia let go of him. With one last glance at his beautifully innocent face, she was gone.
"Dammit, Amelia." Danny said under his breath and walked over to his dresser. He grabbed an old Lakers t-shirt and some cotton sleep pants. Danny realised he was getting pretty tired, he looked over to the clock on his desk and started to panic. The clock read 1:36am, he had a class to get to at 7:30am the morning. He climbed into his bed and slowly fell asleep.

Waking up the next morning, Amelia immediately transported to Danny's dorm. As soon as she showed up, she regretted it.
Danny, coming out of his closet, dropped his flannel shirt he had in the hand and ran over to Amelia wrapping her in his arms.
"Please, never leave me again. I love you..." Danny trailed off and bent down placing his head onto her shoulder.
When Amelia heard Danny, she didn't know what to say. She just stood there, awkwardly in Danny's embrace. Amelia backed away.
"Danny, I didn't mean to come here. It was just habit. I meant what I said about us not being able to hang out anymore." Amelia couldn't look Danny in his blood shot eyes.
"I know you're scared, I can read it all over you. I want you to know that I'm not." Danny said sternly.
"If you only knew everything." Amelia said turning around.
Danny knew she'd never tell him everything, but he had to try something. He turned Amelia so she was facing him, and picked up her feather like body. With Amelia screaming and thrashing around in the air, Danny sat her down on the bed. Danny got down on his knees and looked her in the eye. Amelia's piercing blue eyes started staring back into Danny's chocolate brown. He felt as though she was starting into his soul.
"Tell me, I want to know." Danny smiled, and Amelia sighed.
"I can't. If they knew I told you... They wouldn't be so understanding." Danny still wanted to know what she wasn't telling him.
"I can handle it, Amelia." Danny said and Amelia snapped.
"No. Danny you can't! You are only human, you have no idea what you are up against!" Danny didn't hesitate to yell back.
"Amelia, I can handle my own! I'm 22 for crying out loud!" Danny wasn't expecting Amelia to start crying, but she did. She was yelling and crying and it was getting harder and harder for Danny to understand her.
But he heard and understood the last sentence to fly out of her mouth. He understood it very well.
"DANNY! THEY ARE MAKING ME TAKE AWAY YOUR MEMORY!" Amelia's vision was blurred with anger. Danny was sitting on the floor speechless. "They'll be expecting me to do it any day now."
Danny wouldn't say anything, he just sat quietly on the horribly ugly blue carpet. Amelia wonder if she should just leave, but she couldn't bring herself to leave Danny like that; so helpless and innocent to everything around him.
"Danny I have to go..." Amelia said on the brink of tears. When Danny didn't say or do anything, Amelia sighed and rose up from his bed.
Danny, hearing Amelia's small form lift off his creaky dorm bed, lifted his hand and grabbed onto Amelia's leg.
Amelia stopped and looked down at Danny. He didn't look up, but he started to saying something really quietly. It kind of scared Amelia.
"It you leave, I will die. Fate will find me and I will die."
Amelia knelt down in front of Danny and grabbed his face and lifted it genteelly. "Listen to me. If I stay Michael and Suriel will find you and they will do so much worse than kill you."
Danny, not really realising what he was doing, grabbed Amelia's face and pulled her closer. When her face was close enough to his, he leaned in and kissed her lightly on the lips.
Amelia's eyes grew wide and the spark between them shocked her. She had no idea that was what actual human interaction felt like. She had finally figured it out. Why she had been having all these feelings for Danny. It's because Danny was her vessel's soulmate. She never realised it until now, but it made sense.
Amelia knew Danny could feel it too because he pulled away with a shocked look on his face.
"What just happened?" Danny asked confused.
"You kissed me." Amelia wanted him to point it out in case that was another rule she had.
"I know that, but what was that shock?"
Amelia looked up at Danny and smiled. "I think you're my vessel's soulmate."
The shocked could be read all over Danny's face. He wasn't expecting it, how could he have been? It's not like people go around thinking 'I'm gonna meet my soulmate today.'
"What? That's crazy... I mean how is my soulmate an angel if I can't even be with an angel?" Danny asked.
"No, you're my vessel's soulmate not mine. You're Robin's soulmate, not mine." Amelia said laughing to herself. She knew what she had to do. Even though it didn't make it any easier for her, Amelia knew Danny would be okay now. And Heaven would assign Danny a new guardian.
Sighing, Amelia lifted her hand to Danny's fore head. Danny couldn't move, no matter how much he struggled; he was cemented to the ground.
"Don't do this, Amelia. Please." Danny pleaded.
"I have to, it's for the best..." Amelia trailed off. Before she pulled the plug, she whispered so quietly Danny almost didn't hear her, "I love you."
A white light shown throughout the room, so bright that Danny had to shield his eye. It passed in about two minutes, and Danny opened his eyes. Looking around the dorm room, he felt vacant, and empty. Until he saw the beautiful girl, with shoulder length black hair and bright blue eyes, standing in the middle of the room.
"Who are you?" He asked, confused.
She looked up at him with horror. "Where am I!? Who are you!? What happened!?" She was yelling and looking frantically around the room and panicking. Danny didn't want to scare her so he answered calmly.
"You are in my dorm room at Harvard. I'm Danny, and I don't know." She looked at him again and seemed to calm down a little.
"Oh, you don't know what happened?" She asked.
"I don't even know the date." He laughed sheepishly.
"Neither do I. I'm Robin, by the way." She smiled and Danny's stomach knotted. He found her breathtakingly beautiful.
"I'm Danny." He smiled, "Sorry, that we had to meet in such a weird way."
Robin laughed a little, "It'll be an interesting story to tell." She smiled, a radiant smile.
Right there, Danny knew that something was happening between them, and he smiled back at her. He had a feeling that Robin was going to become a very big part of his life. Danny didn't know how he knew this, he just did, and he liked that he'd get to know Robin more.
"Do you want to get something to eat?" Danny blurted out without realising what he was saying.
Robin looked surprised, but smiled. "Sure, I'm kinda hungry."
